Our Learning Philosophy

How children actually learn to write and read Arabic

Children retain far more when practice is repeatable, visible, and sequenced — not when they are simply told to try harder. That is the thinking behind every layer of our curriculum, from the Khatwi Pre-Series pencil-control pages through to independent Arabic writing.

Each layer unlocks the next. A child does not begin tracing letters before their hand can control a line; they do not begin joined writing before single letters are secure. It is a slower promise than ‘fast results’ — and a more honest one.

Our Classes

A structured class for every stage

Every child belongs to a class, not a subject. Each class brings together the subjects — Qur'an, Arabic Handwriting, Islamic Studies — a child needs at that stage.

Ages 3–5

Foundation Level

The starting point for our youngest learners — building the pencil control and readiness a child needs before moving into the Ages 5–7 Class, alongside their first daily Qur'an habits.

The madrassa's core early class, where children learn to recognise and independently write the Arabic alphabet alongside daily Qur'an and Islamic Studies.

Older Classes (Ages 7+)

As children grow beyond the Ages 5–7 Class, their learning continues to build on the same foundations of Qur'an, Arabic and Islamic character. To ask about a place for an older child, send us an admissions enquiry and we'll talk you through the options.
